Paula of Maine, whose ancestry is uncertain, married Jean, seigneur of La Flèche, son of Landry "alias Lancelin," de Baugency.1,2

Moriarty gives Herbert I "Wake-dog," Count of Maine, as Paula's Father, probably following Latouche, cited by Baldwin. Baldwin gives four possibilities, two less likely, and two others (including this one), as merely possible, concluding, "it does not seem possible to single out one of the scenarios as being obviously preferable."2,3
