Sir Robert de Brus, Knt., Earl of Carrick, King of Scots, son of Sir Robert de Brus, Knt., Earl of Carrick and Margaret of Carrick,was born in Scotland, probably at Turnberry Castle, Carrick Co., 11 July 1274.1 He died at Cardross, Dumbartonshire, Scotland, 7 June 1329,2 and was buried in the middle of the choir at the abbey church, Dunfermline, Scotland.2
Robert married (1) Isabel of Mar, daughter of Sir Donald of Mar, Knt., Earl of Mar and Ellen (…), about 1295;1 he married (2) Elizabeth de Burgh, daughter of Sir Richard de Burgh, Knt., 3rd Earl of Ulster and Margaret (…).1
By one or more unknown mistresses, Robert also had two sons and three daughters.1
