Adelm Brus died about 1080.1
Perhaps Adelm Brus is the second son of Robert de Brus, a Norman knight, and Emma, daughter of Allan, Earl of Brittany.
He was in England before 1066, and joined the Conqueror's invasion at that time. He was rewarded for his services with a grant of the barony of Skelton and the lordship of Cleveland, in Yorkshire.
He perhaps married Emma, daughter of Sir William de Ramsay, but this is considered doubtful.1
