Sarah Howard, possibly the daughter of Joseph Howard and Mary (…), was born about 1736, if the age on the gravestone is correct1, but if exaggerated (which is common), she was born probably shortly before her baptism at Morristown, Morris Co., New Jersey, 8 April 1744.2 She died 8 May 1826, in the 90th year of her age,1 and was buried at Hillside Cemetery, Madison, Morris Co., New Jersey.1,3
Sarah married (1) John Wortman, whose parents are unknown, at Morristown, 15 January 1767;4,5 she married (2), as his 2nd wife, Ellis Cook, son of John Cook and Mehetabel Howell, 28 September 1789.1,4
