Jacob Ford, son of Jacob Ford and Theodosia Johnes, was born at Morristown, Morris Co., New Jersey, 15 March 17721 and baptised there, 12 April 1772.1 He died at Charleston, Charleston Co., South Carolina, before 25 July 1834, when his will was proved.2,1

Jacob married Ann Motte Peronneau, daughter of Arthur Peronneau and Mary Hutson, at Charleston 21 January 1797.2

Jacob Ford received his M.A. from Princeton in 1792 and removed to Charleston.

He wrote his will in Jul 1826, providing for payment of his debts, and dividing his estate equally "among my beloved children." He named executors, son Frederick A. Ford, friends Dr.Thomas Prioleau, John H. Dawson, H. A. DeSaussure.2
