Sarah Ely, daughter of Moses Ely and Rebekah Cook, was born at Livingston, Essex Co., New Jersey, 24 November 1797.1 She died 21 January 1881,1 and was buried with her husband at Ely Cemetery, Livingston, Essex Co., New Jersey, where their monument is inscribed:
