Jesse Johnson, son of David Johnson and Mary McMahan, was born at North Carolina, about 1793.1,2 He died at Montgomery Co., Ohio, before 7 May 1836.3

Jesse married Frances Swallow, daughter of John Swallow Sr. and Fanny (…), at Montgomery 1 May 1817.4,5

He died intestate, and the administration papers include various documents that name the five younger children and indicate:
Fanny is their guardian,
she was in Jay Co., Indiana by August, 1840,
Levi & Henderson were of legal age and heirs of Jesse,
and Henderson Johnson of Montgomery County was appointed "lawful attorney" to act for Frances in handling the estate.6
