Sir William Babthorpe, K. B., son of William Babthorpe, Esq. and Christian Soothill, was born 1489 being age 11 at his father's death in February 1500/1.1 He died 27 February 1555.1

William married Agnes Palmes, daughter of Bryan Palmes, Esq. and Ellen Acclom.2,3

He was made Knight of the Bath at the coronation of Edward VI ( 20 February 1546/7) and created Seneschal of Howden and Hodenshire by the Bishop of Durham, 30 November 1547. Probably died testate.1,4
