Sir James Strangeways, Knt., son of Sir James Strangeways, Knt. and Joan Orrell, was born in 1415.1 He died before 20 August 1480,2 and was buried in the abbey church of St. Mary Overie, Southwark, London, England.1

James married (1) Elizabeth Darcy, daughter of Sir Philip Darcy, 6th Lord Darcy and Eleanor Fitz Hugh, before 27 September 1431;2,1 he married (2) Elizabeth Eure, daughter of Robert Eure and Anne Tempest, before 1468.1
