Vermudo II "the Gouty," King of Leon, illegitimate son of Ordoño III, King of León and Gontroda Pelaez, was born about 953.1 He died at Villabueno del Bierzo, Spain, September 999,1,2 and was buried at Carracedo, Spain.1

Vermudo married (1) Velasquita Ramierez, before 11 October 981;2 he married (2) Elvira García, Queen of Leon, daughter of Garcia I, Count of Castile and Ava, of Ribagorza, before 30 November 991.3,1
