Joseph Austin, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), was born at Hampton, England, about 1616.1 He died at Dover, Strafford Co., New Hampshire, 27 June 1663.1

Joseph married Sarah Starbuck, daughter of Edward "the elder" Starbuck and Katherine Eunice Reynolds, at Nantucket Co., Massachusetts, before October 1649.1,2

He was constable in 1656-7 and on grand juries in 1651 and 1660. He left a will dated 25-29 Jan 1662/3.1
