James de Audley, son of Henry de Audley and Bertrade de Mainwaring, died about 11 June 1272.1

James married Ela Longespée, daughter of Sir William Longespée, Knt. and Iodine de Camville, in 1244.2

He also had a liason with Alice de Mohun, daughter of Sir Reynold de Mohun, Knt. and Hawise Fitz Geoffrey, with whom he had one son. The chronology of this affair is uncertain. RA reports it was after her husband's death (before Oct 1263). The Trowbridge article suggests it was before their marriage, before 1246.3,4
