Sir William de Ferrers, Knt., 3rd Lord Ferrers of Groby, son of Henry de Ferrers, 2nd Lord Ferrers of Groby and Isabel de Verdun, was born 28 February 1332/33.1 He died at Stebbing, Essex, England, 8 January 1370/71.1

William married (1) Margaret de Ufford, daughter of Sir Robert de Ufford, Knt., Earl of Suffolk and Margaret de Norwich, before 25 April 1344;1 he married (2), as her 2nd husband, Margaret de Percy, daughter of Sir Henry de Percy, Knt., 2nd Lord Percy and Idoine de Clifford, before 25 May 1368.1
