Theodore Roosevelt, Jr. - Edward Ambrose Cooke
George Holmes, son of William Holmes and Lysbeth Claes Wipp, was born probably shortly before his baptism, 19 February 1678.1,2 He died between 29 December 1746 and 1756, when he purchased his sister's share of their father's estate, and when his daughter and son-in-law sold his farm.1,3,4

George married Jenneke Bogart, daughter of Jan Louwe Bogert and Cornelia Evert, at Reformed Dutch Church, New York, New York Co., New York, 8 July 1704.1,5

Reportedly, he left a will dated 13 September 1743, apparently leaving the estate to his wife "in fee." Record copies of this will, the reported purchase of his sister's share in 1746, and the sale of his property after the death of his wife by his sole surviving daughter in 1756, have not been located. Those records are reported in two secondary sources, though Riker seems to be source for Mitchell. Riker does not give a source for his facts.1,4,3
