John Knapp, son of Samuel Knapp and Hannah Bushnell, was born at Danbury, Connecticut, 1700.1 He died on Lake Erie in 1758.1

John married Mary Margaret Taylor, daughter of Daniel Taylor and Mary Benedict, at Danbury, 1724.2

He was an officer who was killed or died aboard ship on Lake Erie during the French & Indian War and "buried at sea."3
