James Davis, son of James Davis and Cicely Tayer, was born probably shortly before his baptism at Thornbury, Gloucestershire, England, 4 July 1619.1,2 He died at Haverhill, Essex Co., Massachusetts, 18 July 1694.3,4

James married (1) Elizabeth Eaton, daughter of John Eaton and Anne (…), at Haverhill, 1 December 1648;5,6,7 he married (2) Mary (…), whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), after 1683.3,5,8

Eldest son of his father, James was made his executor and the residuary legatee in his estate. He was made a Freeman in 1666, and took the Oath of Allegiance and Fidelity in 1677.

His will was proved 2 Aug 1694 and is recorded at Salem, Massachusetts. His second wife, Mary had property when they married.9,3
