Sarah Tefft, daughter of William Tefft and Elizabeth James, was born at Greenwich, Washington Co., New York, 18 March 1796.1,2,3,4,5,6 She died at Judsonia, White Co., Arkansas, 6 January 1881.7,8,9

Sarah married, as his 2nd wife, Consider White, whose ancestry is unknown, at Greenwich, 18 July 1819.10,11

In 1871, Sarah, her four surviving children, and their spouses joined together to sell the house and lot Consider had left them in his will. Consider originally purchased the property from William Mowrey in 1827.

It was about this time that baptists in the area were being called to join a mission and start a college in Judsonia, Arkansas. It would seem that regardless of her age (75) Sally responded with what little she had left from Consider's bequests and her small pension from his revolutionary war service.12
