Katherine Dowsing

Katherine Dowsing, daughter of William Dowsing and Marion (…), was born probably shortly before her baptism at Wilby, Suffolk, England, 3 March 1560/61.¹ She died between 1605 and 1620.¹

Katherine married (1) Francis Briggs, son of John Briggs, at Wilby, 1580;¹ she married (2) Plhilp Lynes at Honingham, Norfolk, England, 12 August 1604.²

Katherine was about age 45 at the birth of Frances Lynes, and this was likely her last child. Katherine probably died before 1621 as Philip had three more children baptized at Wymondham, Norfolk:

* Joseph Lynes, 12 Dec 1623
* Benjamin Lynes, 12 Dec 1623

On 30 April 1636, " the wife of Philip Lynes" was buried at Wymondham, but this likely refers to Philip's second wife and mother of the three later children.³
