Roger Porter, son of Robert Porter and Anne Chapman, was born probably shortly before his baptism at Long Sutton, Hampshire, England, 31 March 1583.1 He died at Watertown, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, 3 April 1654.1

Roger married (1) Alice Mulford, daughter of James Mulford and Alice Dixon, at Heckfield, Hampshire, England, 21 June 1608;1 he married (2), as her 3rd husband, Grace Ravens, daughter of Richard Ravens and Elizabeth Hedge, between 1638 and 1644.1
