William Robinson, son of William Robinson and Isabel Wetherell, was born at Hutton Sessay, Yorkshire, England, 25 October 1786.1,2 He died at Thormanby, Yorkshire, England, 17 September 1849, aged 65,3 and was buried at Thormanby, 28 September 1849.2

William married Elizabeth Manfield, daughter of Leonard Manfield and Molly Barker, at Thirkleby, Thirsk, Yorkshire, England, 29 November 1820.4

William left a will dated 6 April 1840, proved 17 Nov 1849:

This is the last Will and Testament of me William Robinson of Thormanby in the County of York Farmer made this sixth day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty in manner following that is to say,

First I desire that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses be paid and discharged by my Executors herinafter named and of my personal property hereinafter inventoried.

I give deivise and bequeath unto my dear wife Elizabeth Robinson all my messuage tenement or dwelling house with[] whole of their outbuildings thereunto belonging and also all my lands closes or parcels of ground and premises situate in the township of Hutton Sessay in the County of York and now in the occupation of William Shipley and all[] my real property whatsoever and whichsoever[] includes I may die possessed of to hold to her my said wife Elizabeth Robinson her heirs and assigns forever. I also give and bequeath unto my said Wife Elizabeth Robinson all my household goods and furniture plate linen[] Beds bedshads and Bedding and all my live and dead stock and crops[] in my farm at Thormanby beforesaid and all my book and other debts money and securities for money and all and every other my personal propberty whatsoever and wheresoever for her sole and abolute right and to be disposed of as she may think proper subject to the payment of my just debts funeral and Testamentary expenses as aforesaid.

And lastly I nominate constitute and appoint George Holmes of Thirsk in the County of York Veternary Surgeon and Thomas Mayfield of Thirkleby[] in the said County of York Farmer, Joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former Will and Wills by me at anytime heretofore made.

In Witness whereof I the above named William Robinson the testator have to this my last will and Testament set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.

Signed sealed published and declared by the above named William Robinson the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his prescence at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as Witnesses hereto.
