John Seymour, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), was born about 1535.1 He died before 23 October 1605, when he was buried at Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, England.1

John married (1) Jone Androw, whose parents are unknown (or untraced), at Sawbridgeworth 11 November 1560;1 he married (2) Dyzory Porter, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), at Sawbridgeworth, 9 May 1562.1,2

John evidently lived continuously at Sawbridgeworth from the time of his marriage until his death. He left a will dated 7 Oct 1605 and proved 13 Nov 1605. Sawbridgeworth is a rural parish in Hertshire, extending to the eastern boundary line of this county and bordering on co. Essex. It is about twenty-five miles northeast of London, and has at present a population of about two thousand [in 1917]. The local pronunciation of the name is Sapsearth."

His first wife, Jone, died leaving no children.1
