Æthelred II "the unready," King of England, son of Eadgar, King of England and Æelfthryth, was born in 968.1 He died at London, England, 23 April 1016,2,1 and was buried at St. Paul's Cathedral, London, England.2
Æthelred married (1) Ælfgifu, whose identity is uncertain, in 985;3,4 he married (2) Emma, daughter of Richard I "the Fearless" and Gunnor, in 1002.5
