Siegfried, Count of Luxemburg, son of Wigeric, Count Palatine of Lotharingia and Cunégonde, was born say between 915 and 920.1,2 He died 28 October, probably about 998.1,2 Both he and his wife were buried at St. Maximin, Trier, France.2

Siegfried married Hedwig, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), say 955.3,1

His granddaughter, Otgiva of Luxembourg, is certainly the daughter of one of his sons, but which son is uncertain. The line through Frederick is considered "standard," but his brother Giselbert is a stronger possibility, being based on more contemporary evidence.4,5
