Born between 980 and 995, Otgiva of Luxembourg was probably the daughter of Giselbert, Count of Vaudrevange/Wallerfangen and an unknown wife. She died 21 February 1030.1,2

Otgiva married Baldwin IV "the Bearded," Marquis of Flanders, son of Arnulf II, Count of Flanders and Rosela "Susanna", in 1012;1 Baldwin abandoned her, about 987.2

While her parentage is uncertain, both possible fathers are sons of Siegfried, Count of Luxemburg. The line through Frederick is considered "standard," but his brother Giselbert is a stronger possibility, being based on more contemporary evidence.3,4
