Hugh Bigod, 1st Earl of Norfolk, son of Roger le Bigod, lord of Les Loges and Savenay in Normandy and Alice de Tosny, Lady of Belvoir, was born about 1095.1,2 He died 1177.3

Hugh married (1) Juliana de Vere, daughter of Aubrey II de Vere and Adelicia de Clare;4,3 the marriage was later annulled;5,3 he married (2) Gundred de Beaumont, daughter of Roger de Beaumont, 2nd Earl of Warwick and Gundred de Warenne, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here).5,3,6

He was also lord of Framlingham in 1120, Royal Steward in 1123.5,3
