Sir Phillip Wentworth, Knt., son of Roger Wentworth and Margery le Despenser, was born about 1424.1 He served in the army of King Henry VI, but was taken prisoner by the Yorkists at the Battle of Hexham and beheaded at Newcastle, Middleham, Yorkshire, England, 18 May 1464.1

Phillip married Mary Clifford, daughter of Sir John Clifford, K.G., 7th Lord Clifford and Elizabeth Percy, say 1444.1
