Joan Savage, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), was born between 1595 and 1596.1 She died at Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island, 15 September 1699.1

Joan married Ralph Earle, son of Raulphe Earle, at Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, England, 29 June 1631.1,2

Sewall wrote in his diary for Friday, 15 Sep 1699: "Mr Newton & I rode to Newport; see Aged Joan Savage now Earle by the way. Her husband Ralph Earle was born 1606 and his wife was ten or eleven years older than he; so she is esteemed to be one hundred and five years old."3
