Nathaniel Wilder, son of Lieutenant Nathaniel Wilder and Mary Sawyer, was born at Sudbury, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, 1686.1 He died at Petersham, Worcester Co., Massachusetts, 9 June 1775.2

Nathaniel married Damaris Whitcomb, daughter of Josiah Whitcomb and Rebecca Waters, at Marlborough, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, 26 December 1707.3

Nathaniel Wilder was one of the first signers of the Petersham church roll in 1738. In 1743, he was a farmer in the west part of Lancaster, now Sterling, where he had purchased a large tract of land.4
