Joseph Linder, son of George Anton "Anthony" Linder and Mary Newland, was born at Washington Co., Virginia, say 1780. He died at Overton Co., Tennessee, before 6 June 1836, when his named "heirs at law" sold their share of his property to John Linder.1

Joseph married Nancy Christian, daughter of John Christian, say 1800.

On 6 June 1836, the "heirs at law" joined to sell to John Linder (relationship not stated) 112½ acres.

The named heirs are (in order):
George Linder,
William Linder,
Henry Deck & wife Anny (formerly Linder),
Thomas Bryant and wife Nancy (formerly Linder),
Elizabeth Linder.

The property is described as:
in the county of Overton on the waters of Roaring River being the same tract that Joseph Linder was living on at the time of his decease bounded as follows to wit, Beginning at a Sugar tree & [---] the beginning corner of Grant No 302 to Stokeley Donelson thence North 38° West crossing [h?]uddle creek thirty seven poles to a Stake thence down said creek with it's various courses to a Stake and two White Walnuts on the bank of said creek thence north thirty three [past?] two hundred and twenty on poles to two black Jacks near the road leading from the Standing Stone to Monroe thence South fifity five East two poles to a Stake in Said road thence South[---] East with the middle of said road fifty seven poles >>>

Joseph and Nancy are said to have had four other children, but the full evidences are not yet seen.1
