Sir Richard Tempest, Knt., son of Sir Richard Tempest, Knt. and Maria Talbot, was born 1356.1 He died 1430.1

Richard married Margaret Stainforth, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), as one of his two possible wives.2

It appears Richard probably had two wives, at least one of whom was Margaret Stainforth. The first wife (which may have been Margaret), "was taken by our Scots enemies. . . ." The abduction could have occurred anytime after 8 Rich II (1384/5) and probably closer to the date the event was recorded, 1 Hen IV (1399/1400). Further information on this abduction or it's outcome is lacking, and who was the mother of his children is impossible to know with certainty.3,2,4
