Richard Bailey alias Sherburne, Esq., son of Richard de Bailey and Margaret Sherburne, was born at Stonyhurst, Lancashire, England, 12 October 13811 and later baptised at Mitton, Lancashire, England.1 He later took his mother's surname and died 29 May 1441.2

Richard married Agnes Harington, daughter of Sir Nicholas Harington, Knt., M.P. and Isabel English, before 4 August 1391.2
