Sir William de Roos, Knt., 1st Lord Roos of Helmsley, son of Sir Robert de Roos, Knt. and Isabel d'Aubeney, was born about 1255.1 He died 6 August 1316,1and was buried at Kirkham Priory, Yorkshire, England.1

William married Maud de Vaux, daughter of Sir John de Vaux, Knt., Sheriff of Norfolk and Sibyl (…), before 1287.1
