Gideon Paine, son of John Paine and Elizabeth Belcher, was born probably shortly before his baptism at Rehoboth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts, 10 October 1703.1,2 He died at Smithfield, Providence Co., Rhode Island, 7 January 1756.3,4

Gideon married Rebecca Corp, daughter of John Corp and Patience (…), at Providence, Providence Co., Rhode Island, 14 November 1725.5,3

He was of Providence when he bought 121 1/2 acres in Smithfield from Jeremiah Brown for 630 pounds current money.6

Gideon left a will dated 29 May 1754, and proved 19 January 1756 naming:
