William Paine
William Paine, son of Gideon Paine and Rebecca Corp, was born at Smithfield, Providence Co., Rhode Island, say 1738.1,2,3 He died at Adams, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts, before 1793.4
William married Sarah Hawkins, daughter of John Hawkins and Mary (…), at Smithfield 23 November 1757.5,3
He and his three brothers were all born by 1734 or later as they were all under 21 when their father wrote his will in May 1754.
In 1793 three of his children (Gideon, Zimroda, and William ) joined to sell 100 acres, theirs by virtue of each inheriting a 1/10 share of their father's estate. The seven other shareholders have not been identified.4
