Captain Thomas Amsden, son of Isaac Amsden and Jane Rutter, was born at Marlborough, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, 9 January 1686/87.1,2,3 He died at Marlborough, 27 April 1760.1,3

Thomas married Eunice Howe, daughter of Joseph Howe and Dorothy Martin, at Marlborough 18 June 1712.4

Captain Thomas Amsden was a Captain of a military company at Marlboro, and also blacksmith, settling in the Robin Hill district. In 1735 he received an allotment of land for his father's and uncle Jacob's service in King Phillip's war.

His daughter Lucy, a widow, was made administratrix of his estate, valued at £106.5
