Frances Perriman, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), was born, about 1635.1 She died at Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, before 15 March 1725, when the executors of Richard Cutter's will notified the probate judge that their mother was deceased and that they wished to divide the remaining estate.2
Frances married (1) Isaac Amsden at Cambridge, 8 June 1654;3,4,5,6,7 she married (2), as his 2nd wife, Richard Cutter at Cambridge, 14 February 1662/63. The ancestries of both men are unknown (or not traced here).3
She is possibly the daughter of Arthur and Mary (Snelling) Perriman, baptized 1 August 1634 at Plympton St Mary, Devon, England, and named in the will of her aunt, Frances Snelling, dated 29 November 1653, before her marriage to Isaac Amsden. The will does not give a domicile for her.
There are two other Perriman women (not named in the will of Frances Snelling) are known to have married in New England, Elizabeth Perriman m. Frances Moore at Cambridge, 6 Oct 1653, and Rebecca Perriman to Daniel Farribus [Forbush] at Cambridge 27 Mar 1660. Of his children, Arthur Perriman had a daughter Elizabeth, but she died young in 1640. Rebecca does not appear in the baptism register of Plympton St Mary. If Elizabeth and Rebecca are sisters of Frances, these three names have not been found in a family group with a common set of parents. Of her children with Richard Cutter, two of them are named Elizabeth and Rebecca.
William Snelling, a would-be uncle of Frances Perriman, immigrated to Newbury, Massachusetts and did purchase a house, garden, and orchard in Boston, 13 October 1654, a few months after Frances married Isaac. Interactions between William Snelling and the Amsden/Cutter, Moore, and Forbush families have not been researched (as of Dec. 2022).8,9,10
