John Atwater, son of Christopher Atwater and Marion (…), was born probably shortly before his baptism at Royton, Lenham, Kent, England, 5 March 1567.1,2 He died probably at Royton, before 1 November 1636,1,2 when he was buried there.1
John married Susan Narsin at Lenham, Kent, England, 3 December 1598.1,2
He died without making a will and an administration was granted, at the request of the widow Susan, to their son, Joshua, a mercer of Ashford, Kent, she renouncing her right, 29 Nov 1636. She died soon after and her children decided to emigrate. As Joshua and David were both married after their arrival in Connecticut, and as Joshua is listed as having two in his family, it seems obvious that the sister Ann, must have accompanied them but the Atwater Genealogy gives no further information about her.1
