Sir James Stewart, Knt., 5th Steward of Scotland, son of Alexander Stewart, 4th High Stewart of Scotland and Joan (…), was born about 1243.1 He died in 1309.1
James married (1) Cecilia Dunbar, daughter of Patrick III, 7th Earl of Dunbar and Cecily, between 1265 and 1270;2 he married (2), as her 2nd husband, Muriel of Strathearn, daughter of Sir Malise, Earl of Strathern and Majory de Muschamp, before 1278;1,3 he married (3) Giles de Burgh, daughter of Sir Walter de Burgh, Knt., 2nd Earl of Ulster and Aveline Fitz John, between 1292 and 1296.4
