Charles Alexander Johnes, son of William Johnes and Charlotte Pierson, was born at Morristown, Morris Co., New Jersey, 30 March 17961,2 and baptised there, 5 June 1796.1 He died at Newburgh, Orange Co., New York, 7 December 1832,3,4,5 and was buried at Cedar Hill Cemetery and Mausoleum, Newburgh, Orange Co., New York.5

Charles married Sarah Pettit, whose parents are unknown.3
