Elizabeth Ely, daughter of Moses Ely and Rebekah Cook, was born at Livingston, Essex Co., New Jersey, 28 August 1783.1 She died 23 March 1844,1 and was buried at Ely Cemetery, Livingston, Essex Co., New Jersey.2

Elizabeth married (1) George Ring, whose parents are unknown;1 she married (2) John Watson, son of John Watson and Martha Lee, in 1819.3

Elizabeth's first husband, George Ring, left the area in 1805 and was not heard from again. Fourteen years later, thinking him dead, she obtained a divorce and married the Rev John Watson.2
