Abram Halsey Ely, son of Moses Ely and Rebekah Cook, was born at Livingston, Essex Co., New Jersey, 28 May 1787.1 He died 6 June 1849,1 and was buried at Ely Cemetery, Livingston, Essex Co., New Jersey, where his stone is inscribed:

Abram married Emma Samo, daughter of Isaac Samo and Sarah Wilson, in 1816.1
