William Gardner, son of Stephen Gardner and Jemima Worth, was born at Nantucket, Nantucket Co., Massachusetts, November 1743.1,2 He died at Deep River, Guilford Co., North Carolina, before November 1817, when his will was proved.3

William married (1) Susanna Gardner, daughter of James Gardner and Susanna Gardner, at Nantucket, 27 November 1766;4,1 he married (2) Deborah Davis, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), at New Garden, Guilford Co., North Carolina, 4 March 1801.5

In 1790, his household was probably the one enumerated in the Salisbury District, Guilford Co., North Carolina, with 1 free white male over 16, 4 under 16, and 7 free white females.6
