Stephen Gardner, son of Solomon Gardner and Anna Coffin, was born at Of Nantucket, Nantucket Co., Massachusetts, about 1718.1 He died at New Garden, Guilford Co., North Carolina, before 26 November 1774.2

Stephen married Jemima Worth, daughter of William Worth and Mary Butler, at Nantucket, Nantucket Co., Massachusetts, 7 October 1742.3,4

Stephen Gardner, and several other Nantucket Quakers left the Island in the early 1770's for New Garden, Guilford County, North Carolina.5
