Sancho I, Count of Castile, son of Garcia I, Count of Castile and Ava, of Ribagorza, was born about 965.1 He died 5 February 1017,1 and was buried at the monastery of St. Salvador of Oña, Spain.1

Sancho married Urraca, (of Navarre?), perhaps the daughter of Sancho II "Abarca," King of Navarre and Urraca Fernández, of Castile, about 994.1
