Sir William de Hylton, Knt., son of Sir William Hylton, Knt., de jure 9th Lord Hylton and Sybil Lumley, was born before 1511, being aged 50 and more in 1561.1 He died in 1562, when his inventory was taken.2

William married Margaret Metcalf, daughter of Sir James Metcalf, Knt., High Sheriff of Yorkshire and Margaret Pigot.2,3
