Mahaut of Portugal, daughter of Alfonso I "the Conquistador," King of Portugal and Maud of Savoy, was born in 1151.1 She drowned when her carriage fell into a marsh at Veurne, West Flanders, Belgium, in 1218.1

Mahaut married (1) Philippe, Count of Flanders, whose ancestry is known but not traced here,2 she married (2) Eudes III, Duke of Burgundy, son of Hugues III, Duke of Burgundy and Alix of Lorraine, 1193;2 their marriage was dissolved on grounds of consanguinity in 1195.2
