Robert Woodruff Cooke, son of Dr. Robert Woodruff Cooke, MD and Susan Gansevoort, was born at Holmdel, Monmouth Co., New Jersey, 19 December 1837.1,2,3 He died at Bala, Philadelphia Co., Pennsylvania, 4 October 1917,4,5,6 and was buried in the Cooke plot at the Old Brick Reformed Church Cemetery, Marlboro, Monmouth Co., New Jersey.7,8

Robert married Hulda Holmes Van Mater at Holmdel 22 June 1868.9

His stone at the Old Brick Reformed Church is perhaps a cenotaph, a monument erected to honor someone buried elsewhere. The Roseboom Genealogy indicates he moved to Philadelphia in 1890.7
