Susan Gansevoort, daughter of Conrad Gansevoort and Elizabeth Roseboom, was born at Minden, Montgomery Co., New York, 19 March 1805.1,2,3,4,5 She died at Holmdel, Monmouth Co., New Jersey, 21 November 1894,6,2,7 and was buried in the Cooke plot at the Old Brick Reformed Church Cemetery, Marlboro, Monmouth Co., New Jersey.2

Susan married Dr. Robert Woodruff Cooke, MD, son of Dr. Ambrose Ellis Cook, MD and Sarah Piersall Wheeler, at Albany, Albany Co., New York, 22 September 1830.1

Susan was characterized thusly: "By her earnest life, steadfast faith, and self-sacrificing endeavor, she endeared herself to all with whom she came in touch."6
