Mehitable Ormsby, daughter of Jeremiah Ormsby and Mehitabel Wilmarth, was born at Rehoboth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts, 7 September 1710.1,2 She died at Warren, Bristol Co., Rhode Island, 25 February 1796,3 and was buried at North Burial Ground, Warren, Bristol Co., Rhode Island, where her stone is inscribed:

Mehitable married Thomas Jolls, son of Robert Jolls and Experience Hollbrook, at Bristol, Bristol Co., Rhode Island, 15 March 1732/33.4,2

In 1782, she is lsted in the Rhode Island census next to her son Robert as "Widow Jolls," with one female over 50, and three blacks.5

Mehitable left a will dated at Rehoboth, 22 January 1790, but recorded at the probate court of Warren, Bristol Co., Rhode Island, sometime after 1800. In it she named:
sons Robert, Thomas, John, Ebenezer, and Jeremiah;
daughters Susannah Wheeler, wife of John Wheeler, Mary Hill, wife of Caleb Hill, Lydia Eddy, wife of Joseph Eddy, Hannah Ormsby, wife of Joseph Ormsby, and Sarah Ormsby, wife of John Ormsby, Mehitable Luther, wife of Robert Luther, and Betty Wheaton, wife of Perez Wheaton.6
