Sir Robert de Holand, Knt., 1st Lord Holand, son of Sir Robert de Holand, Knt. and Elizabeth de Samlesbury, was born about 1283.^1,2 He was beheaded by allies of Thomas, Earl of Lancaster, after being captured in Boreham Wood, Herts, 7 October 1328,^1,2 and was buried at Grey Friars, Preston, Lancashire, England.¹

Robert married Maud La Zouche, daughter of Sir Alan La Zouche, Knt. and Eleanor de Segrave, before 13 May 1306.^1,2,3
